报告摘要
Ladderphanes are a new type of duplex polymers. Ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) serves as an efficient strategy for the synthesis of ladderphanes. Luh’s group has extensively investigated the chemistry of ladderphanes and related polymers. The polynorbornene- and polycyclobutene-based ladderphanes are obtained by ROMP of the corresponding bis-cycloalkenes using Grubbs I or II catalyst. Both symmetrical and unsymmetrical ladderphanes are obtained conveniently.It is worthy to note that an aniline pendant would be indispensable for controlling the stereoselectivity of the ROMP reactions. Moreover, this remote aniline or other substituents may dictate certain chemo- or other selectivities of organic reactions.
When cyclopropene derivative 1 was used, the Grubbs I and II catalysts have been shown to be a smart catalyst to differentiate E and Z-double bond in intermediates for stereospecific synthesis of poly(methylene-E-vinylene) 2. The Z-double bond intermediate was converted to dimeric cyclohexadiene 3 as the byproduct, and in the meantime the oligomeric/polymeric ruthenium carbene intermediate with all E-double bonds was regenerated for further polymerization. This unique regenerative self-healing mechanism appears to be similar to that of DNA proofreading and repair in replication.
When a bis-cyclopropene derivative 4 was treated with Grubbs I catalyst, a new type brick-wall-like two-dimensional polymer, stromaphane(means layer)5, was obtained. This is the first example of using homogeneous catalysis for the synthesis of 2D-polymers.

陆天尧教授,1967年毕业于台湾大学农业化学系,1974年获美国芝加哥大学博士学位,1974-1976年于美国明尼苏达大学做博士后研究。现任台湾大学化学系教授,长期从事有机合成方法学和材料化学的研究,主要研究兴趣包括有机合成方法、仿生高分子合成、有机无机混成材料、有机光电材料以及模拟光合作用等。先后在国际重要化学期刊发表学术论文290余篇,曾获得台湾国科会杰出研究奖、庄守耕公益基金科学奖、行政院杰出科学技术人才奖和侯金堆杰出荣誉奖等。
